Some ideas arrive fully formed. When a friend sent Tammra a video of a woman hosting a Craft Rave in Toronto, she knew immediately. A space where people make things together while music moves through the room fit so precisely with everything she'd spent decades building that she launched Comox Valley Craft Rave almost immediately, and the community responded with enthusiasm.
Tammra, known to dance floors as DJ sprouT, has been moving people with music for over two decades. She is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and NLP Advanced Humanistic Practitioner with over 20 years working on people's physical, mental, and emotional health. The turntables and the healing work have never been separate. Music moves the body. Creativity rewires the mind. Community reminds people they are not alone. Tammra has lived this, having navigated her own path through anxiety and chronic illness toward a life in genuine alignment. sprouT Productions, her third production company, is the fullest expression of a philosophy she's carried throughout her career: events should have purpose, and the people in the room matter as much as anything on stage.
Her husband and creative partner Tony has stood beside her in sprouT Productions since 2010. Known as Tony's Tie Dyes, he's been creating next level tie dye work since the 1990s, was invited to tie dye cups in Las Vegas, and won a Tie Dye Cup. His presence in Craft Rave is natural: he understands what it means to be fully immersed in making something.
Together they've built Comox Valley Craft Rave into two formats. All Ages daytime events welcome everyone on a by donation sliding scale so cost is never a barrier. Evening 18+ events bring full rave energy with craft tables front and centre. Supplies are always provided at no extra cost.
For someone who wouldn't call themselves a going out type, the craft table changes everything. It gives a reason to be there, and while hands are busy making, strangers become collaborators.
Vibe Guides circulate to hold space and check in. Daytime events are sensory considerate. sprouT Productions intentionally hires DJs, vendors, and Vibe Guides from communities too often excluded from event production, including people with disabilities, Indigenous artists, POC and gender diverse are all welcome to apply and to attend.
Comox Valley Craft Rave is a model built to grow, for the idea that everyone deserves a place to land, a place to play, and a place to dance.
Community Code of Ethics & Code of Conduct
Our Intention: Craft Rave is a creative, playful, community gathering where everyone is invited to make, move, and connect with care, curiosity, and respect.
CODE OF ETHICS
These are our shared values.
Care First: We look out for ourselves, each other, and the space. If someone looks overwhelmed, check in gently (get permission first).
Consent & Respect: Ask before touching people, their bodies, or their art. A clear “no” is always okay.
Creativity Over Perfection: There is no right way to make. We celebrate experimentation, mess, and play.
CODES OF CONDUCT
This is how we behave together.
Be Kind, Be Curious, Be Chill: No shaming, no bullying, no harassment, no judgment.
Share the Space: Take turns, clean up after yourself, and help keep things welcoming. Share supplies if you have extra.
Stay Present: If you need space, step outside or find a quiet corner. If you are someone who is easily overstimulated we suggest you bring headphones or earplugs and definitely go outside for some fresh air. During our day time events we will take short rests to reset, in between. This is not a facilitated event, if you need to stretch, do some breathing or regulating please have your tools ready.
Ask a Vibe Guide if you need extra support and we will do our best to get you what you need.
Report anything strange or out of integrity to Tammra or a Vibe Guide immediately.
IMPORTANT HOUSE GUIDELINES
If our venue is licensed for alcohol sales, ID is required to purchase alcohol. No ID, no drinks.
Children must stay with their parents or guardians at all times (unless otherwise stated)
Hot glue and other extra messy materials are in designated areas only.
Please use the provided table coverings (or bring your own) before using anything that could stain or damage tables or chairs.
Please make sure there is a table cover at your table (plastic, newspaper etc.) to protect the tables if we are making at a restaurant.
Ask us if you need something.
Respect the venue. Treat the space as if it were your own home.
Leave no trace. Please tidy your table before you go.
For dancing, consent comes first. Ask before entering someone’s dance space, and be aware of your body and others around you, especially kids when it’s an all-ages event. Also, all kinds of creative movement is welcome.
Be scent-aware. Please keep perfumes light or none at all. No incense. Use extra smelly art supplies outside.
If the music is too loud, find a table that is further away from the DJ and sound. If it’s still way too loud let us know and we can adjust it.
If we have missed something here - tell us!
FEEDBACK IS WELCOME
We are always learning and growing together.
Please share thoughts with Tammra (afterwards unless urgent), a Vibe Guide or by message after the event. Take notes as we build this together.
Feedback is always welcome as are testimonials.
IF YOU NEED HELP
Find a Vibe Guide. They are here to support flow, safety, and good vibes.
🌱 We prioritize safety, consent, and creative joy.
🌱 Collaboration over competition.
🌱 Community makes the Rave!
"Vibe Guiding at the craft rave was energizing and genuinely fun. The room buzzed with music, creativity, and people helping each other make some beautiful art together. I loved watching strangers turn into collaborators and seeing participants light up when their projects came together. I left satisfied, inspired, and excited to do it again. If you’re looking for a way to meet new friends while having a great time, this is the place to jump in."

Help Us Grow the Vibe

Craft Rave respectfully acknowledges that the land where we work, live and play is on the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation. We recognize this acknowledgment is only a starting point, and that true respect means ongoing action: learning the true history of this land, supporting Indigenous led initiatives, and working toward reconciliation in how we show up in this community. In practice, this looks like actively inviting Indigenous artists into our lineup and seeking out ways we can support K'ómoks led initiatives. We hold gratitude for the K'ómoks First Nation's stewardship of this territory since time immemorial, and we commit to being a good guest here.
